If you wish see a doctor/nurse on the same day, kindly contact the surgery with your request and the practice team will assist you appropriately. If the same-day appointments have been exhausted, then your request will be passed to the duty doctor who will decide on a suitable course of action to help you.
If your need is non-urgent, kindly request the receptionist accordingly, so that a suitable appointment can be pre-booked for you. We book surgery appointments for up to 2 weeks in advance. If the pre-bookable slots have been used up, then you maybe offered an alternative appointment, depending on the prevailing demand for our services.
We request that you utilise our experienced nurses’ clinics for all routine reviews, thereby enabling the doctors’ clinic appointments to be accessible for important medical matters. These routine reviews often require blood tests/blood pressure checks, etc. Hence the reception staff will make a note of your review request and organise suitable appointments once the same has been vetted by the medical staff. It has been our experience that, in the vast majority of cases, your usual GP can co-ordinate your healthcare safely and efficiently based on these observations. If a face-to-face GP consultation is merited, then we will contact you accordingly.
Telephone appointments are considered appropriate for discussing test results, simple follow-up consultations, clarifying your hospital attendances, medication queries, etc. Please DO NOT clog the telephone system with these requests between 8.30 and 10am, when our receptionists are trying their best to assist with urgent clinical appointment requests.
